I went for a more realistic gun sound without the hollywood subbass and a lot cleaner than my previous work. Made in ableton live, i just layered an ak47, an m16, an enfield rifle and an acoustic kick drum together with eq and used parallel compression to gel them together. Transient designers were used on the layers to make them snap harder. A bolt slide forward sample and a bolt slide back sample were added to give some mechanical feels to the gunshot. Enjoy.

The origin of this recording is a hob on the highest heat level recording slightly hot. Be very careful if you are doing this as fire is obviously detrimental to organic life and the microphone does not like to be on fire. An "acidized" (marked with loop/cue flags) sample. I imagine a furnace combusting away. Rate-shifting this sample (pitch/speed) can give you variations in your daw (digital audio workstation). This sample in particular feels appropriate for use as a background furnace sound or if sped up, a flamethrower.

I opened the woodstove door while recording with a zoom h1 n. So the first thing you hear is the door opening, and then the latch falling down. The fire had just been lit. It is starting to ignite the douglas fir wood slowly but surely, and you can hear the kindling crackling.

Fireworks recorded amidst the buildings of an apartment complex. Lowpassed around 1khz. Slightly expanded dynamic range. I cut as many incidental noises as i could hear on my headphones (cars, neighbors, etc) but there's still some residual hum from an electrical box that was nearby as well as wind. I was out recording some sounds late one evening, and i randomly heard this, which i can assume is a gunshot. Not much processing was done to this sound, except some noise removal and pitch shift. I recorded people blowing up fireworks in my neighborhood last night with a zoom 6 using the stereo mics. Then i isolated individual sounds and tweaked the eq some in adobe audition, then ran those sounds back-to-back to make these "machine gun" sounds. Let me know what you think? (i might try making some more versions of these).

If you want to use these sorts of sounds (good for games or video), remeber adding reverb back is the trick to making the sound big again.
